Take it to the Tracks Block PartyEvent Categories “Take It To The Tracks”
HAMMOND – Hammond’s Downtown Development District is giving South Louisiana another reason to Thank God Its Friday! “Take It To The Tracks,” Hammond’s biggest block party featuring live music, great food, lots of specials and loads of fun. Hammond’s downtown restaurants, clubs and shops will be open late and offering special deals while bands on two large stages next to the railroad tracks will keep the party going from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. “‘Take It To The Tracks’ is a great opportunity for people to rediscover everything Hammond’s downtown has to offer. We have the world-class restaurants and terrific shopping you’d expect to find in a larger city and an inviting, friendly atmosphere you usually find in a smaller town,” DDD Executive Director Terry Lynn Smith said. The two musical stages for “Take It To The Tracks” will be on North Cate Street in the parking mall areas next to the railroad tracks. Stage One will be between East Thomas and West Thomas, and Stage Two will be between West Thomas and Charles Street. The Hammond City Council is waiving open container and noise ordinances for the block party until 10 p.m. Parking will be limited, and some streets will be closed off to accommodate the event.
