Amber & Aubrey Carter FoundationSeptember 26th, 2009 Event Categories The Amber & Aubrey Carter Foundation
The Amber & Aubrey Carter Foundation seeks your support in raising funds to assist in the recovery of Amber Carter and the continuance of care of baby Aubrey Carter. On September 26, 2009, Amber’s friends and co-workers will host a fundraiser. We are requesting area businesses to donate goods and services for the Silent Auction to be held at this event. On September 5, 2009, Dennis Carter Sr. shot and killed his wife, Donna Carter, 49, son, Dennis Carter Jr., 26, and 2-year-old grandson Mason Carter in their home. He then shot his daughter-in-law, Amber Carter, who was six months pregnant, as she cradled Mason in her arms and jumped from a second story window to try to escape to safety. Amber was critically injured and her precious son Mason, had died. Dennis Carter Sr. then shot himself to death after a police chase shortly afterward. After the shootings, Amber gave birth to baby Aubrey by emergency cesarean section and underwent multiple surgeries to save her own life. She will need to have several more surgeries in the coming months and undergo extensive physical therapy and rehabilitation to regain the ability to walk again. Both Amber and Aubrey remain in the hospital in New Orleans. We believe that this is a good opportunity for you to reach out to your clientele to support a worthy cause. Our supporters include the medical community of North Oaks Health System, where Amber is employed. Most of the attendees will be from Hammond LA and neighboring communities. These people travel, lodge, play, dine, and shop in this area. We ask for your company's efforts to reach these people by sponsoring the Amber & Aubrey Carter Foundation. We hope you will support our efforts to improve the health and well being of our friend and co-worker Amber Carter and her daughter Aubrey. Our success depends on your generosity. Yours truly, Allison Plaisance Head Chairperson 985-902-1601 home 504-259-7829 cell Please call if you would like to donate goods or services. |
