Extreme Makeover: Hammond Chamber of Commerce Logo

The Hammond Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a contest to create a new logo, and you’re invited to participate.

The current logo has served the organization well for several years, but as the Chamber nears its 60th Anniversary, it’s time to refresh our look and image in the community. The winning entry will be used to identify and brand the Chamber’s business correspondence, news releases, marketing materials, displays, website, etc.

Participation
 The logo contest is open to residents of Louisiana. Graphic designers and graphic design students are encouraged to participate. Hammond Chamber Board members and Chamber employees are ineligible to enter.

Design Requirements
 Reflect the Chamber’s spirit and mission:

“The mission of the Hammond Chamber of Commerce is to strengthen the business climate, promote community development and enhance the economic vitality of the Hammond community within Tangipahoa Parish. “

 Incorporate Hammond Chamber of Commerce into the design.

 Include 2 versions of the logo: a black & white graphic and a 2-color graphic; colors used in the 2-color graphic should be compatible with existing Chamber materials. Submission Requirements
 No limit to the number of logos that may be submitted per person.

 Each logo must be accompanied by a completed entry form.

 Entries must be original work created by participants and must not infringe on any third party rights or plagiarism.

 Submit entries electronically to chamber@hammondchamber.org in JPEG, PDF or EPS file formats or deliver entries on a CD to the Chamber office:

Deadline
The closing date for design submission is Friday, October 30, 2009 at 4 p.m. to the Chamber office or via email.

All submissions become the exclusive property of the Hammond Chamber of Commerce and will not be returned.

Judging
The Marketing Committee of the Chamber will review all submissions and send recommendations to the Chamber Board of Directors. The Board will vote on the winning design.

All participants will receive notification via email informing them if their entry has been or hasn’t been selected.

The winning design and designer will be announced and featured at the Chamber’s installation meeting in January 2010

Awards
The designer of the winning entry will receive a $100 gift card and will be featured in the Chamber newsletter and on the organization’s website in addition to local TV/radio interviews. The winning design will appear on Chamber print and online materials.
