Children's Hospital's Relay ChallengeOctober 31st, 2009, 7:00AM Where: The Ernest M. Morial Convention Center Get Directions Visit Event Website Event Categories Jazz Half Marathon & Merrill Lynch Relay Challenge
Children’s Hospital is hosting its first Jazz Half Marathon on Saturday, October 31, beginning at 7:00 a.m., and we hope you will join us! Some of your employees may be avid runners and may choose to run the full 13.1 miles. Other runners and walkers may participate through our “Run for the Children Relay Challenge” presented by Merrill Lynch. The “Run for the Children Relay Challenge” is a four-person team event. Each member of the team will run or walk 3-4 miles of the Jazz Half Marathon course and pass a baton to the next member of the team. The team will select the order of its runners/walkers and the first team member will leave the starting line with other Jazz Half Marathon participants. Other team members will be bused to points along the course where the baton will be passed, and, of course, the fourth member of the team will run the final leg of the half marathon. Team registration is $150 and companies are welcome to enter as many teams as they like. Each participant will receive a “Merrill Lynch Run for the Children Relay Challenge” tee shirt and will enjoy the post-race party, which includes food, beer, soft drinks and music by “Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue.” There will also be music along the course. Team members are also asked—but not required—to solicit support for the hospital from their friends and colleagues. The team that raises the most money will receive dinner for eight at the New Orleans area restaurant of their choice. The individual who raises the most money will win a three night stay at a Marriott in San Francisco or New York (winner’s choice) with airfare for two included. We hope that you will consider entering one or more teams in the “Run for the Children Relay Challenge”. For more information, please go to www.jazzhalf.com. Thanks for your consideration |
