AMITE – Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa, Inc. is pleased to introduce its 2010 Board of Directors and 2010 Officers. The Board of Directors and Officers for 2010 are as follows; Judy Couvillion – Chairperson, Dale Brouillette – Vice Chair, Jamene Dahmer – Teasurer, Daryl Ferrara – Secretary, Dennis Pevey, Lance Kern, Glenn Hauk, Anita Cutrer, Jeff Miller, Joseph Starns, Tonia Delatte Gay, Robby Miller, Raymond Cutrer, Amy E. Newsham, Tracy D. Farris, and Jack V. Liuzza. Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa had a great year in 2009 led by CEO/Executive Director Jodie W. Powell. Crime Stoppers hosted the 1st Annual Awards Luncheon and the 1st Annual Tangipahoa Night Out Against Crime in 2009. Both events will be continued in 2010. Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa was also a proud sponsor of the Choices program with the Hammond Chamber of Commerce for which they also formed a Crime Task Force Panel to speak to the Chambers’ General Membership. They have spoken to various businesses, chambers, personal, senior, and civic groups throughout the year. In addition Crime Stoppers has participated in many expo’s and health fairs to raise awareness of their organization and placed CST signs in community parks. Crime Stoppers is working hard to integrate into the Tangipahoa Parish community as a whole by forming working partnerships with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Tangipahoa Reshaping Attitudes for Community Change(TRACC), the Underage Drinking Task Force, the U.S. Marshals Service Operation FALCON, Louisiana State Police, Hammond Chamber of Commerce Community Development, Safe Communities America Steering Committee, Child Advocacy Services Sex Offense Task Force, The Prescription Drug Task Force, the Energy Security Council Energy Crime Stoppers, Leaders Impacting Tomorrow’s Tangipahoa, and all other local law Enforcement Agencies in Tangipahoa. Crime Stoppers is also building additional relationships that support our mission and vision and the three essential components that make Crime Stoppers successful: Community, Media, and Law Enforcement. In 2009 Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa received 604 tips, assisted in 253 arrests, cleared 234 cases, assisted in the recovery of over $73,000 in stolen property, and the seizure of over $33,000 in narcotics. In 2009 Crime Stoppers of Tangipahoa paid out over $42,000 in cash rewards to anonymous callers. “We are very proud of what we have been able to accomplish this past year.
