Tangipahoa Parish continues to blossom with new and exciting ventures.

The new home of the Tangipahoa Parish Convention and Visitors Bureau is located just off I-55, exit number 32 (University Blvd. / Wardline Rd.), the new site gives the bureau better interstate prominence and room to grow. The Visitors Center showcases the history of the railroad, contains a refreshment area and possesses state-of-the-art technical equipment.

Tangipahoa African American Heritage Museum

New attractions continue to develop in Tangipahoa Parish. The long-awaited grand opening of the Tangipahoa African American Heritage Museum was held in February 2007. This facility boasts over 8,000 square feet of exhibit space, eight exhibition rooms, twenty-six permanent murals, a restaurant and dinner theater, along with a recording studio, banquet facilities, heritage garden and planned Vietnam memorial wall.

Louisiana Treasures Museum and Educational Center

The Louisiana Treasures Museum and Educational Center is located on Hwy 22 West at the Pumpkin Center road intersection. This museum provides patrons with unique visual and hands-on exploration of Louisiana in the past. Displays featuring arrowheads used by Native Americans, stories about a local hurricane as fierce as Katrina, and farm and carpentry tools used by our ancestors are just a few of the outstanding features of this facility.
